Hello and thanks for visiting my travel blog!
I’m a Canadian with a passion for travel and living in other countries. I am currently living in Sydney, Australia. I try to take advantage of travel opportunities wherever I happen to be, squeezing in weekend sojourns while employed and taking longer trips in between jobs.
For those unfamiliar with the term, “flashpacking” refers to a sort of upgraded version of backpacking. It’s a type of travel for people who like adventure, but who also like a good night’s sleep. For people who would rather not wear each of their four pairs of underwear inside out until they find a river to wash them in. Or for whom contracting malaria or travelers’ tummy is not a badge of honour, only a nuisance.
I should also mention that I am using the “flashpacking” term pretty liberally. My travel adventures have actually ranged from spending $3 a night to stay in a Cambodian mountain village with no electricity to ski trips in Switzerland. Like most people, my budget varies according to what I can afford at the time and how long I’m traveling for.
I hope my stories and advice are of some use to you in planning your trip, or simply as inspiration.
